I was talking with a Real Estate agent recently about looking for a home. I told her that I would like to know if I'd be approved for a home mortgage first. She took my information and infomed me that everytime I give someone permission to look at my credit report, it is officially reported, and if there are too many people looking at my credit score, I can easily be denied for a home mortgage. Is this true or is the Real Estate agent exagerating?

Credit lenders do not like credit inquires. They get nervous they see too many of them. In fact, having too many credit inquires has been known to be the cause of denial for many people applying for credit.
Keep in mind that credit inquiry that results in approved credit is okay. So is one that occurs when you request a copy of your credit report from the credit bureau. It's the ones where you were declined credit that will hurt you.
