I've been listening to the news and I heard there are new rules that credit card companies must follow. Has any body heard about this? I think one of the rules are credit card companies can only raise interest rates on new purchases or advances, rather than on current balances. In addition, credit card companies must present easy to read tables in their monthly statements.

This rule is to be in place on July 2010. Why must we wait so long? Are there any other rules?
